Memorial Service set for Don Lucas

Memorial Service set for Don Lucas

Don Lucas's widow, Lee Young, sits next to Alex wilson, one of MHA's
founding members, at the recent quarterly meeting of the Mapleton Home
Association on April 24. Lee would like people to know that a memorial
service will be held for Don on May 15th at 1:00 pm at 525 Main St.,
Louisville (the Elks Lodge). An interesting bit of history: Lee has
lived in Mapleton Hollow for over 20 years. About ten years ago, the
owner of Mapleton Hollow was a gentleman named Lou Nutall. When Lee and
Don Lucas learned that Lou was thinking of selling the park, SHE
mentioned to Don that 'the residents of the park ought to see if they
could buy it from Lou'. Don thought it was a good idea, too. He
presented Lee's idea to another small group of residents...(Alex among
them) and the rest is history. Perhaps we should thank Lee for the fact
that the residents of Mapleton Hollow still live in their affordable
mobile homes in the middle of modern, built-out Boulder!
